CHLL will be holding a clinic for all CHLL players from 9:30 to 11:00 am at Ryan Zimmerman Field on Saturday, May 27th. We have heard from the Nats, subject to change, that Ryan Zimmerman will be joining CHLL for the clinic! Hope to see as many kids out on that Saturday morning as possible – and parents and coaches helping to organize drills for each division, please!
Nationals to Hold Baseball Clinic for DC Area Little Leaguers!
The Washington Nationals will be holding a skills clinic for Washington, DC area Little Leagues on May 13th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. CLICK HERE for more details.
The largest crowd ever for a CHLL Opening Day Ceremony came out on Saturday. CHLL President Adam Meier hosted the festivities and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand threw out the first pitch. Ward 6 Councilman Charles Allen spoke about the importance of Little League and Screech dropped by to entertain the kids. A great time was had by all! A special thank you goes out to Krister Holladay and Tony Hack for all the great pictures!
Saturday afternoon, in between our full slate of CHLL games, we are planning our traditional opening ceremonies to officially kick off the spring CHLL season. We invite all of the CHLL “family” to join us at RZF at 1pm, and we hope to have nearly all of the 500+ CHLL players join this annual celebration of our growing league.
On tap at the ceremonies will be our traditional parade of CHLL teams, an equipment drive arranged by the charitable organization Leveling the Playing Field and a cleat exchange (so bring some old gear to donate and/or cleats to swap), prize giveaways, and then we will attempt to take a Giant CHLL Team Photo.
We’ll announce the starting line-ups, sing the national anthem, and throw out the first pitch for our two featured games (softball and Single A games), both of which will start immediately following the ceremonies on the two fields at RZF. We would love for all to stay and root on our softball players taking on Northern Virginia rivals from McLean, as well as cheer for our quickest growing division, the young Single A / t-ball kids.
There is even a rumor that Screech will stop by.
It should be a fun event, so we hope to see everyone on Saturday afternoon. Please have your kids come in uniform, which they may still be grass-stained from an earlier game, or they are wearing in preparation for their game later that afternoon. Try to get there a bit before 1, and we will organize the teams for the parade.

Nats and Little League fans–
The Washington Nationals is partnering with Capitol Hill Little League and other baseball and softball leagues in the city to make a group of discounted tickets available to CHLL players, families and friends for the game on Sunday, April 30 vs. the Mets, gametime 1:35pm. Tickets are available in three different sections (Upper Gallery, Gallery, and RF Corner), and the ticket prices are all coming up 7s: $17, $27, $37. These prices are about 20% off of face value, and what’s even better, a portion of each ticket sold will go to Capitol Hill Little League. In addition, as an added perk, the whole CHLL group who attend the game are invited to go down on the field prior to the game for a parade of teams.
There is a limited supply of these tickets, so click on this link to purchase your tickets:
