Single A Baseball (5-6 year olds)

Background: Single A provides our youngest players an introduction to baseball. Players learn to hit from a stationary batting tee and move to coach pitch when ready. This results in lots of hits and runs and plenty of fun.

CHLL uses a softer ball for Single A, which reduces the fear of being hit and promotes confidence in fielding. Players are introduced to basic baseball rules and teamwork. CHLL emphasizes instruction of basic fundamentals and having fun. Winning and losing are de-emphasized and scores are not kept in Single A.

At this level teams may be organized from neighborhood groups or school classmates and we do honor most requests to keep friends together. All children who apply are placed on a team.
