Little League World Series Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament

Our 12U baseball team had an amazing summer season, winning the DC State Championship on July 13 and then advancing to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament, with the winner earning a trip to the Little League World Series.

During the first game of the tournament, there were nerves and excitement, but that quickly faded for games two and three which CHLL won (a shut out win versus Delaware followed by a 6-1 victory over Maryland). The two decisive wins propelled our boys of summer to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship game against Pennsylvania. Aired on ESPN2 (and then ESPN after two hour long rain delays), our team entered the final two innings in a close defensive battle. In the end a talented team from Pennsylvania took the win to advance to the LLWS.

Our team played an incredible tournament, highlighted by some amazing pitching and even a top 10 play on SportsCenter courtesy of catcher Lee Rubin. While credit goes to the hardworking players, we want to give a huge thank you to the coaches who helped advance this team. Led by Manager Brian Thomas and Assistant Coaches David Toney, Alec Hoppes, and Ben Ritchie (not pictured), this team has set the standard for the future of CHLL!
