About the League

Capitol Hill Little League (CHLL) was founded in 2011 by parents to create opportunities for children in our diverse community to play baseball and softball with good sportsmanship, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, and sound judgment. The league is run entirely by volunteers, with hundreds of individuals supporting the spring and fall programs, serving as coaches, umpires, team parents, field crew, and Board members.

The Capitol Hill community, including many local businesses, has been instrumental to the establishment and continued success of CHLL. The league has grown from 120 baseball players in 2011 to more than 700 baseball and softball players in the spring of 2024. We support over 50 teams, playing Little League Baseball, Softball, and a Challenger division team for players with special needs.

In the summer of 2024 we supported 7 baseball and softball tournament teams. Our two softball tournament teams (10U and 12U) both made it to the DC State Championship. And our 10U, 11U, and 12U baseball teams all won the DC State Championship and advanced to the Little League Regionals. Our 12U baseball team was the runner up in the Little League Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament, coming just one win shy of advancing to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA!
